Editorial & Publication Process

1. Peer Review Process

  1. Every submitted manuscript will undergo a double-blind peer review process.
  2. The review process evaluates the manuscript based on its novelty, objectivity, methodology, scientific impact, conclusions, and references.
  3. Reviewers must provide timely, written feedback regarding the scientific merit and scholarly value of the work.
  4. Reviewers must avoid personal comments or subjective criticism.
  5. Reviewers should notify the editor immediately if they are unable to complete the review in a timely manner and, if possible, suggest alternative potential reviewers.
  6. Reviewers must remain vigilant regarding ethical concerns, such as substantial similarities between the manuscript under review and any papers already published or submitted to other journals.
  7. Reviewers must ensure that published articles comply with the editorial and academic standards of the journal.
  8. Reviewers must protect readers from incorrect or flawed research and studies that cannot be validated by others.

2. Publication Frequency

Jurnal Studi Komunikasi dan Media (JSKM) is published biannually, in June and December.

4. Editorial Policies

All submitted manuscripts are initially assessed by the editorial team to determine their relevance to the journal's focus and scope, compliance with the author guidelines, and suitability for the peer review process.

Manuscripts that meet the initial editorial requirements are assigned to reviewers with relevant academic expertise. Editorial decisions are made by considering the reviewers' recommendations, the scientific quality of the manuscript, and its contribution to the fields covered by the journal.

The editorial team reserves the right to request revisions, accept, or reject a manuscript. The final decision regarding publication rests with the Editor-in-Chief.
